Thanks to the rise in Auto-Tune music, even supposedly upbeat records are now often tinged with a sad sound. True, this century has still familiar heartbreak music thanks to the piano ballads of Amy Winehouse or the guitar chords of Bon Iver, but the sound of sadness has branched out.
